MTCC Chairman, Y. Bhg. Dato\u2019 Dr. Freezailah  <\/span>Che Yeom has been awarded the 2013 People\u2019s Republic of China Friendship Award \u2014 the Chinese government\u2019s highest honor for foreigners who have made exceptional contributions to China\u2019s \u201ceconomic and social progress\u201d on 29 September 2013.  <\/span>The award which is in the form of a Certificate and a Medal was presented by Vice-Premier Mr. Ma Kai.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Chinese government still remembers me for my humble contribution. So I feel very honored for being remembered by China\u201d, said Dato\u2019 Dr. Freezailah (China Daily 3 November 2013, page 5). Dato\u2019 Dr. Freezailah has helped China with several international cooperation projects on tropical forest management in Hainan and Yunnan provinces. In addition, more than 30 Chinese forestry scholars received the ITTO\u2019s Freezailah Fellowship to conduct research abroad. The China Daily reported.<\/p>\n

As one of the 50 recipients from 20 countries receiving the award, this award is one of the most significant achievements for Dato\u2019 Dr. Freezailah.  <\/span>Y. Bhg. Dato\u2019 Freezailah thus becomes one of the 1,249 foreign experts, from 65 countries and regions, who have received the award since 1991.  <\/span><\/p>\n
