He then studied forest management at the University of Washington, Seattle.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abraham has worked with various communities and non-profit organizations in forest landscapes across Malaysian Borneo since 2016. He also brings with him extensive experience in rural development, renewable energy and agroforestry. As MTCC\u2019s first regional representative in East Malaysia, Abraham\u2019s responsibilities include monitoring the implement of the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS) and strengthening MTCC\u2019s stakeholder engagement in Sabah and Sarawak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Abraham joining its ranks, MTCC hopes to raise the profile of the MTCS and its effective implementation by fostering close collaboration with government agencies, civil society, indigenous peoples, local communities, as well as the timber industry.
