We are pleased to announce that the MTCC Board of Trustees has approved the revision to the current MTCS Technical Document MTCS ST 3002:2021<\/em> – <\/em>Procedure for PEFC Notification of Certification Bodies Operating Forest Management System or Chain Of Custody Certification<\/em>. This document outlines the procedure for PEFC notification of Certification Bodies (CBs) operating Forest Management Systems or Chain of Custody certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The revised document MTCS ST 3002:2024<\/strong> now involves the inclusion of the MTCC logo and other related information on the certificates issued by PEFC-notified CBs under the MTCS. The CBs will be granted a six-month transition date<\/strong>, effective today 25 June 2024<\/strong>, to allow for a smooth transition and are expected to be in full compliance by 25 December 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main changes are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MTCS ST 3002:2024<\/strong><\/td>MTCS ST 3002:2021<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>
5.3 The certificate shall include at least the following information:
a)\u00a0 The certification scheme which the certificate is issued, i.e. the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS);
b)\u00a0 identification of the certification body;
c)\u00a0 name of the certificate (i.e. Certificate for Forest Management or Certificate for Chain of Custody);
d)\u00a0 information of client organisation;
–\u00a0\u00a0 for forest management certificate: name of certificate holder, name and area (in hectares) of Forest Management Unit\/ Forest Management Plantation Unit.
–\u00a0\u00a0 for Chain of Custody certificate: name of certificate holder, location of certified site and scope of certification, CoC method
e)\u00a0 type of certificate (individual, multi-site or producer group);
f)\u00a0\u00a0 reference to the standard used (i.e. MC&I SFM or PEFC ST 2002 Chain of Custody of Forest and Tree Based Products \u2013 Requirements); g)\u00a0 the date of granting, extending or renewing certification and the expiry date or recertification due. The certification shall be granted for a maximum of five years;
h)\u00a0 MTCC logo with certification body\u2019s MTCC licence number;
i)\u00a0\u00a0 PEFC logo with the certification body\u2019s PEFC licence number;
j)\u00a0\u00a0 accreditation mark of the accreditation body (including accreditation number where applicable); and
