With MTCS Chain of Custody Certification<\/em><\/h3>\n

Kuala Lumpur<\/strong>, 26 December 2017<\/strong> \u2013 Signature International Berhad, a Bursa-listed company, achieved a significant milestone with its subsidiary Signature Manufacturing Sdn Bhd becoming the first in the kitchen systems sector to obtain the Chain of Custody (CoC) Certification under the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS).<\/p>\n

Signature International Berhad designs, produces, markets and distributes kitchen systems under its flagship brand Signature Kitchen, the nation\u2019s leading brand for kitchen cabinet and wardrobe.
\nCongratulating Signature Manufacturing Sdn Bhd on its achievement, MTCC CEO, Mr Yong Teng Koon said, \u201cI am pleased to see a well-established brand like Signature Kitchen embracing sustainability requirements in the manufacture of its kitchen cabinets and wardrobes. The MTCS is a national timber certification scheme developed and operated by the Malaysian Timber Certification Council (MTCC) that promotes sustainable forest management practices.\u00a0 Since its implementation in 2001, and as of 30 November 2017, a total of 4.12 million hectares of forest areas and 359 timber companies have been certified under the MTCS.<\/p>\n

The MTCS Chain of Custody Certificate was presented to Signature Manufacturing Sdn Bhd\u00a0 by Puan Nor’ Afiza Saim, Senior General Manager for Management System Certification, from SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, a MTCS-notified certification body at the Signature Kitchen Lifestyle Gallery in Kota Damansara.<\/p>\n

The CoC certification allows Signature Manufacturing Sdn Bhd to label its kitchen cabinets and wardrobes containing timber materials as MTCS-certified products, as a mark of its compliance to the sustainability requirements under the MTCS. The qualified use of the MTCS\/PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) label on its timber products brings added value and builds the brand\u2019s credibility as the MTCS is also endorsed by PEFC, the world\u2019s largest forest certification programme.<\/p>\n
